Warehouse Assistant
Main Duties
Reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor, Warehouse & Distribution Manager, and Depot Manager, the purpose of the Warehouse Assistant will be to complete tasks that assist the day-to-day running of the warehouse, maintain the warehouse, organize bin bay locations, and ensure correct storage of all products. The role is quite physical, and manual handling is a main responsibility.
Key Skills
- Adhering to good practice within the warehouse
- Responsible for correctly picking orders and placing them in the correct location for deliveries
- Being aware of possible stock shortages and informing supervisors or managers to reorder
- Ensuring all new stock is put away promptly in the correct bin-bay location, matching delivery notes
- Assisting in monthly stock takes and weekly stock audits
- Filling out the correct information on stock lists and forklift/pedestrian truck records
- Following health and safety procedures
- Wearing appropriate safety equipment on site
- Prioritising workloads and maintaining flexibility
- Assisting drivers as a second man or driver’s mate when required
Knowledge and Experience
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Good product knowledge
- Flexi FLT licence is an advantage
Additional Information
Working hours are Tuesday to Friday, 8:45 AM to 7:00 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The role includes four discretionary quarterly bonuses of £250 and an annual discretionary bonus of £1,000, subject to meeting key performance indicators.
