Main Duties:
- Be responsible for managing the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring that all delivery requirements for the depot are successfully met.
- Monitor the quality, quantity, cost, and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods.
- Responsible for the line management of the staff within the distribution team, including the warehouse staff.
Key Skills:
- Ensuring that the warehouse runs as efficiently and effectively as possible.
- Updating route sheets as required.
- Conducting security checks on the open/shutdown of the operation.
- Analysing data to monitor performance and plan improvements.
- Ensuring that products are dealt with efficiently in the warehouse and are successfully delivered to customers.
- Maintaining the warehouse and its housekeeping to a high standard.
- Ensuring stock is stored within health and safety guidelines.
- Following and adhering to all processes regarding loading/unloading, including checking of all loads, shrink wrapping, and load security.
- Ensuring adequate staff levels to cover for absences and peaks in workload.
- Delegating work to staff and managing their workload and output.
- Conducting or supporting disciplinary/capability/grievance procedures as required.
- Enforcing health and safety policies and procedures.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Use of Microsoft Excel for spreadsheets and records.
- Good teamworking skills.
- Good management and communication skills.
- Good product knowledge and warehousing policies and procedures.
- Full use of the Trinity system and CyberQuery software.
This position operates on a 5-day workweek, scheduled Sunday through Thursday from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
