Depot: Aylesbury
Main Duties:
- The buyer is responsible for ordering all stock for the site, ensuring sufficient stock levels to satisfy changing demands, trends, and seasonality.
- Take ownership of the stock control function, making it your own and being responsible for the integrity of all stock on site.
Key Skills:
- Placing daily orders with suppliers across all categories based on forecasted usage.
- Cover the ordering of all stock to satisfy customer demand, whilst keeping stock levels to company standards.
- Liaise with category buyers on current pricing.
- To manage and minimise obsolete stock.
- Manage sale or return stock to ensure all is returned in a timely manner.
- Control of stock on a daily basis.
- Liaise with the warehouse staff on stock enquiries.
- Goods in processing, receipting of delivery notes into the system.
- Ensure accuracy of checking delivery notes against purchase orders, booking in of deliveries, and raising any queries with suppliers in a timely manner.
- Investigate and provide a data report on discrepancies, losses, and damages.
- To assist the operational team with controlling best-before dates of all stock and minimising write-offs.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Can cope with multiple tasks, retaining a high level of accuracy.
- Good communication skills.
- Flexible attitude to work.
- Good time management skills.
- Organisational skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel ability.
- Previous experience is beneficial but not essential.
