Covering Leicestershire | Part-Time (16 hours) and Full-Time (37 hours) | ÂŁ25,242 (pro-rata for part-time) depending on experience and qualifications.

Our client is a domestic abuse and sexual violence charity, with a range of roles available across its service in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The employer is looking for qualified and unqualified workers. For qualified roles, there is an option to start the role as a trainee while completing the qualification. There are multiple posts covering either Leicester City and/or Leicestershire County. Posts covering the County require the post holder to have a driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.

The essential qualities of both Domestic and Sexual Abuse Support Workers are:
- Experience working in a paid or unpaid capacity with relevant support, information and advice service
- Experience of working with children, young people and/or families
- A recognised qualification in social work, education, youth & community, family work, or equivalent – OR relevant experience
- An understanding of abuse and the ways in which this can affect individuals
- An understanding of multi-agency working, Early Help and safeguarding procedures
- An ability to work flexibly, as required, including evening and weekend work
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative
- Experience in using basic IT programmes, email and the internet
- Commitment to equal opportunities practice
- Due to the remit of this work a satisfactory DBS is essential
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Delivering one-to-one and group-based support for children and young people
- Facilitating healthy relationship sessions within schools and youth settings
- Working collaboratively with partner agencies, including Early Help and safeguarding services
- Delivering training and awareness sessions for local practitioners
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records, including risk assessments, support plans and case notes
- Managing confidentiality appropriately in line with organisational policies
- Attending meetings and contributing to service development where required
- Referring clients to specialist services when appropriate
Due to the remit of the organisation to provide services to vulnerable women and children, and hence the sensitive nature of the work roles of the organisation, only female applicants for posts are considered, in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Requirement (Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9 Part I).
