The predicted salary is between 21 - 22 £ per hour.

His Majesty’s Theatre is looking for an individual to join the maintenance electrician team. In the role you will carry out a wide range of electrical projects and general maintenance works, to help maintain and future proof the venue.

What you’ll be doing

  • Working as part of the Venue Tech team to provide support to the Theatre Management and Technical departments.
  • Working closely with the Technical & Building Services Manager & Technical teams.
  • Ensure the quality of the venue’s presentation by introducing practical regimes and arrangements to ensure a standard is maintained.
  • Ensure essential supplies are ordered for the building, maintaining appropriate stock levels, with approval from the Technical Manager and Heads of Department.
  • Monitor health and safety performance in line with Company policy and statutory provisions, ensuring a positive and proactive approach to Health & Safety.
  • Engage with risk assessments, ensuring they are adhered to and recommendations made.
  • Assist with general maintenance issues.
  • Ensure that technical areas are kept tidy and well maintained.
  • Liaise with contractors on a regular basis, ensuring that the work they are delivering is what is expected and that they are fully briefed on health and safety procedures.
  • Ensure the practical application of the Group’s Health and Safety policy in respect of building services management (Weekly Compliance testing).

Electrics

  • The role will also carry out first line maintenance and/or review as appropriate the technical infrastructure not limited to:
  • The electrical installation, lighting and emergency lighting.
  • Fire safety and suppression equipment.
  • Technical facilities such as digital screens, door access systems, tills and CCTV.
  • The continuous supply of metered utilities.
  • Telephony and IT solutions.
  • The venues facilities, services and fixtures and fittings.
  • Electrical building projects.

What we need

  • A recognised electrical qualification such as C&G 2330, 2365 etc.
  • Knowledge & experience of In-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment (PAT testing).
  • Knowledge and experience of electrical installation in a commercial & industrial environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of inspection and testing. A City and Guilds 2395 is ideal.
  • Good working knowledge of the Health & Safety requirements associated with building maintenance.
  • The ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Proven ability to successfully balance a busy workload and work under pressure.
  • Ability to work either as part of a team or independently.
  • Willingness to challenge existing working methods and to recommend new working practices.
  • Knowledge of Construction and Design Management 2015.
  • A working knowledge of Technical Standards for Places of Entertainment.
