We are looking for a commercial and driven Department Manager to lead the Dior Menswear boutique in Selfridges. The successful candidate will be an inspirational leader who is able to build a strong team spirit and lead the team to the achievement of individual and shared goals with passion and enthusiasm. This is a full‑time role which requires flexibility to work Monday to Sunday on early and late shifts.

Job responsibilities

  • Manage the department’s sales performance and service standards.
  • Make the most effective use of space and stock available by maximising sales and minimising wastage of resources through the team.
  • Ensure that the merchandise is displayed effectively using promotional material to reflect current demand.
  • Lead by example in client recruitment and development of client loyalty through CRM activities.
  • Achieve the boutique capture rate and mystery result targets.
  • Handle any situation with customers.
  • Awareness of competitor activity and communicate this to the team.
  • Full knowledge of back office functions and boutique analysis (CRM, client recruitment, P&L, store activities, stock control, reports, VM rules etc).
  • Ensure that the boutique maintains the correct basic stock levels.
  • Provide effective feedback, ensuring that popular selling lines are replenished on time.
  • Control stock loss within Store budget and implement stock audits effectively.
  • Ensure that the boutique operates in accordance with Company administration systems and procedures to minimise losses.

Security

  • Ensure that the Company procedures on security in relation to theft/pilferage are adhered to.
  • Report all suspected shoplifters to Loss Prevention officers.
  • Ensure that all staff are trained and know and follow the Company systems on: cash handling, credit authorisation, acceptance of cheques, arrangement of staff purchases, reporting of stock, cash and loss.

Employee’s relations and staff training/development

  • Take part in the recruitment, training, evaluation, motivation and development of the staff.
  • Oversee and manage employee performance appraisals and highlight employees for development.
  • Communicate effectively in order to develop a stable team and a succession plan for your business.
  • Hold morning briefings and motivate the team to achieve the objectives.
  • Network with Dior management to share best practices.

Health and safety

  • Ensure that Health and Safety policy and procedures are adhered to within the concession for both staff and customers.

Additional responsibilities

  • Maintain the highest standards of housekeeping and retail standards within the concession.
  • Participate in stock takes outside of normal working hours to ensure a smooth operation at all times.
  • Carry out any additional duties as directed by the Concessions Director and the Retail Director.
  • Be aware of all Company’s and Department Stores policies and procedures such as till maintenance, store approval, induction days, events, etc.

Profile

  • Previous management retail experience, ideally in the luxury.
  • Strong expertise in menswear.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building.
  • Outstanding sense of customer service, sense of initiative and commercial creativity with fashion.
  • A passion for Christian Dior and our collections.
  • Strong knowledge of fashion and trends.
  • Fluency in a second language (preferred).
