About The Role
We have a fantastic sales opportunity for an enthusiastic, target driven and professional Protection Consultant to join our Protection Sales team.
Within this exciting role, you will work with Independent Financial Advisers (IFA\’s) across the UK to deliver outstanding protection solutions for their clients.
This is a crucial role in supporting a panel of financial advisers with protection planning for their clients.
You’ll be a trusted partner and subject matter expert for your panel – your support, expertise and influence will be key aspects of this role. You’ll deal with both new and existing accounts, to acquire new business and maintain profitable business for LV. You’ll present our Protection proposition over the phone and in person (when required), develop new leads, and help advisers develop their current protection business. This role is primarily remote, however office visits to Bournemouth (circa once per month) and attendance at some adviser events will be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering agreed business goals from an allocated regional panel (to be identified and managed via a business plan, and Key Account plans where appropriate).
- Achieving individual financial targets (where appropriate) for business volumes and premium income, in accordance with the required business mix.
- Ensuring that excellent customer outcomes and conduct risk are adhered to.
- Attending network events and roadshows when required and providing in-person support.
- Developing consistent support from adviser firms, increasing the number of supporting advisers within a firm, and the breadth of protection products sold.
- Exceeding the required minimum levels of operational activity in all key areas (minimum levels are set to achieve core business targets).
- Observing risk events and reporting these to the Risk Manager where appropriate.
- Maintaining and developing your knowledge of the LV= Protection proposition, competitor product offerings, and our competitive positioning.
- Ensuring your own technical and sales skills are up-to-date and strong.
- Achieving and maintaining sales competence and CRM records, in line with LV= standards.
- Working as a member of the Sales team to achieve the corporate goals, placing the achievement of the team and LV= goals above the achievement of personal goals.
- Managing all business dealings (appointments, entertaining, record keeping, etc.) in accordance with LV= compliance procedures.
About You
Our ideal candidate will…
- Have experience of working within a targeted/sales-focused role.
- Be comfortable to work independently, prioritise workload to meet targets accurately, and be responsible for delivering business requirements within agreed timeframes.
- Be empathetic and genuinely have our customer\’s best interests at heart.
- Possess strong numerical and literacy skills.
- Competently be able to use Microsoft Office programmes and any relevant CRM systems.
- Be self‑motivated, with excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Have experience of working within Financial Services (desirable but not essential).
- Be willing to obtain R01 and R05 accreditations within the first 12 months of the role if these haven’t already been achieved.
