Role Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Banqueting Chef to lead and support the preparation and delivery of high-quality banqueting and event catering.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and enjoys creating memorable dining experiences for large groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and cook a wide range of dishes for banquets, weddings, conferences, and special events, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
- Manage kitchen operations during banqueting events, coordinating with the culinary and service teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene, health and safety, and cleanliness in line with industry regulations and hotel policies.
- Support menu development and contribute creative ideas to enhance the banqueting offering.
- Ensure efficient stock control and minimise food waste through careful planning and portion control.
- Train, mentor, and support junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and professional working environment.
- Collaborate with the events and front-of-house teams to meet client requirements and exceed guest expectations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience as a chef within banqueting, events catering, or large-scale hospitality operations.
- Relevant culinary qualifications such as a City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in Professional Cookery or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of food hygiene standards (e. g., Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate) and safe working practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities and event requirements.
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
- Passion for delivering exceptional food quality and presentation.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required by event schedules.
