Salary: £30-35k per annum

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (flexible working hours)

Location: Remote - occasional in-person meetings with Finance team - ideally based Wiltshire/Dorset/Hampshire - UK

Contract: Fixed-Term Maternity Cover (12 Months)

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our Central Finance Team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong purchase ledger experience who enjoys working independently within a supportive and collaborative finance team.

The Role

Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the purchase ledger function across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
  • Managing supplier accounts and resolving invoice queries
  • Performing daily bank reconciliations
  • Preparing and processing BACS payment runs
  • Completing credit card reconciliations
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Ensuring all financial records are maintained accurately and in a timely manner
  • Assisting with month-end processes as required
  • Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc finance administration duties

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable position
  • Strong Excel skills, including the ability to work confidently with formulas and spreadsheets
  • Experience using finance/accounting systems and the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with suppliers and colleagues
  • Experience with bank reconciliations, BACS payments and credit card reconciliations
