The In‑Market Quality Manager sits at the intersection of quality assurance, customer expectations, and commercial performance. Their mission is to ensure that products or services consistently meet regulatory requirements, internal standards, and customer needs. Markets in scope: Essilor UKI.
- Build a culture of quality, accountability, and customer focus by ensuring the root cause of customer issues are understood and addressed, delivering improvements to customer capabilities.
- Lead improvement activities based on customer feedback including customer visits and audits.
- Develop effective relationships with key customer groups to provide in‑market support for all quality activities.
- Lead activities to reduce returns, working in the market, with local department leads, and with commercial teams to reduce impact and rate of customer returns.
- Work closely with sales, marketing, supply chain, customer services, and operations to support training programs to improve performance and regulatory awareness.
- Track quality KPIs such as defect rates, complaint trends, and service levels and propose areas of focus for in‑lab quality teams.
- Champion data‑driven, continuous improvement practices in quality across UKI.
- Align with Group Quality & inspection policies, standards, and methodologies.
- Support NPI teams by providing in‑the‑moment quality analysis, ensuring successful launch of products in all markets.
Required Skill‑set
- Essential: Qualification – GCSE Level English and Maths, or demonstrable experience.
- Essential: 3 years’ Experience in medical device environment.
- Essential: Strong problem solving skills, 8D methodologies or similar.
- Essential: Solid experience with the group’s IT platforms: MS365, Excel and Word, & SAP.
- Preferred: General knowledge of Ophthalmic lenses.
- Preferred: General knowledge of Lens manufacturing process.
