BASED IN THE NORTH LONDON / ANGLIA AREA
We are looking for an Instruments Service Engineer to install and provide technical/breakdown cover on the full range of Essilor Instruments products, within their own area and other areas if required. To consolidate existing sales, seek new business and increase profitable sales for the Instruments Department.
JOB SCOPE AND MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- To provide a level of service that meets customer requirements and expectations.
- To increase the level of profitable business for the Instruments Department among existing and new customers.
- To maintain, on a continual basis, an assessment of the market in order to obtain a comprehensive awareness of customer and competitor activity to ensure that opportunities and threats are identified and acted on.
- To maintain up to date records, allowing accurate monthly reporting for inclusion in the Instruments Manager’s monthly report to the business.
- To provide breakdown and service cover within their own territory or others if required.
- Provide next day service when necessary, to ensure customers receive prompt attention whilst ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum.
- To provide installation and training assistance when required to ensure that new equipment is installed promptly and efficiently to ensure customer satisfaction.
- To visit customers who may have had ongoing problems, in order to accurately assess the situation and give feedback to the Instruments Manager for a decision on any further action.
Main requirements
- GCSE-level standard (or equivalent) Maths and English.
- Full driving licence that permits driving in the UK.
- Relevant industry and/or equipment experience.
- Field-based optical experience.
- Must be able to work alone and within a small team.
- Must be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Must have ability to make decisions and act upon problems quickly.
- Excellent fault finding/diagnostic skills.
- Excellent knowledge of IT / networking / connectivity.
- Extensive knowledge of company products and systems.
