We are seeking an experienced Engineering Solution Architect to lead a large-scale migration from a SaaS-based platform to an on-premise infrastructure for a major financial services organisation. This is a strategically important engagement requiring strong technical leadership and hands-on experience running point on complex platform migrations.

Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will define the end-to-end migration strategy and target architecture for transitioning core systems from a SaaS environment to on-premise infrastructure.
  • This includes assessing the current SaaS-based setup, identifying dependencies, risks, and constraints, and producing a clear roadmap outlining the steps, sequencing, and technical considerations required to execute the migration successfully.
  • The architect will work closely with engineering, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to ensure the proposed approach is technically sound, secure, and aligned with regulatory and operational requirements within financial services.
  • They will also be expected to act as the primary technical point of contact for the migration, providing direction to delivery teams and ensuring stakeholders are kept informed of progress, risks, and key decisions throughout the engagement.

Skills

Must have

  • Candidates should have proven experience as a Solution Architect or similar senior engineering role, with direct hands-on experience designing and/or leading SaaS-to-on-premise (or similar infrastructure) migrations.
  • Strong knowledge of on-premise infrastructure design, including networking, storage, security, and deployment considerations, is essential.
  • Experience within regulated industries such as financial services is highly desirable, given the additional compliance and operational resilience requirements involved.
  • The role also requires the ability to assess complex existing systems and translate findings into a clear, actionable migration plan, along with strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate technical strategy to both technical and business audiences.
  • Familiarity with core banking or wealth management platforms is a plus, though not essential.
