The Role: Quality Assurance Engineer
As a Quality Assurance Engineer you will work closely under the direction of the Quality Manager, on a wide range of quality assurance activities to ensure our KPIs are achieved. You will play an integral part in the investigation and response to non-conformances, analysis of quality data and driving continuous improvement, maintenance and calibration of inspection equipment and assisting with internal and external audits.
The successful candidate will work within the Quality Assurance department supporting the organisation’s key processes including NPI & Product Realisation; and have a good understanding of a Quality Management System (QMS), ideally in the Aerospace or allied industries. It is highly desired that you have experience in reviewing engineering drawings, have a working knowledge of metal machining techniques to make metal parts and have experience in supplier qualification and monitoring.
Main responsibilities:
- Work safely and comply with all company HSE requirements
- Work with the Quality and Compliance and Materials QC Departments.
- Complete activities related to SAP QM, Corrective Action/Preventative Action (CAPA), Internal Audits, NCP/concessions, ensuring timely completion of actions where attention to detail and accuracy is paramount.
- Carry out internal audits and preferably audits of external suppliers and subcontracted processes.
- Work with the Company’s Intranet and SharePoint information and document systems.
- Liaise with Quality Managers and other third parties over quality related issues.
- Work with other departments on quality aspects of operational and continuous improvements.
- Any other duties within the post holder’s competence as requested.
What you need to be successful:
- Diploma qualification in Engineering, Operations, Material Science, Chemistry, or related Science subject or equivalent level of competency
- Previous experience in a similar Quality Assurance Engineering role, ideally within the aerospace industry
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance tools
- Internal Auditor experience in EN 9100 Rev D
- Experience of using MS Office; Excel – Intermediate level e.g. graphs, data analysis, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Experience of working in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Utilising the use of QA tools related to CAPA methodology.
- Experience in the use of various inspection equipment and ability to understand inspection reports including FAIR’s.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have a good team working ethic, be highly proactive and motivated.
You will be employed on a permanent contract working from our site in Swinton, Greater Manchester, working 37 hours per week Monday to Friday with flexibility to meet business need. You will demonstrate excellent teamwork and accountability, influencing colleagues in other departments.
