We are seeking an experienced and motivated Waste/Wheeled Loader Operator to join our HSE team. Reporting to the HSE Advisor and responsible to the HSE Manager, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient handling of materials and waste across site. This role involves supporting hazardous and non-hazardous waste collections and removals in line with health, safety and environmental legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a wheeled loader safely to load, move and stockpile waste materials.
- Carry out daily equipment checks and basic maintenance, reporting defects promptly.
- Move materials between storage areas and load wagons for disposal.
- Maintain a clean, organised work area.
- Follow site procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Communicate effectively with HSE and production teams.
- Support general duties related to site waste streams as required.
Essential Criteria
- At least 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including English, Maths and Science.
- Proven experience operating a wheeled loader, ideally within a waste or manufacturing environment.
- CPCS/NPORS or equivalent plant operator certification preferred.
- Good understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements relating to waste management.
Working Pattern
- Mostly outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Day shift role with some flexibility to support waste collections.
- Working in close proximity to hazardous and non-hazardous materials, using appropriate PPE at all times.
