What You’ll Be Doing
- Performing routine analytical testing using both traditional techniques and advanced instruments (e.g. XRF, XRD, ICP-OES, Ion Chromatography, and more)
- Testing raw materials, in-process samples, and final products
- Maintaining high standards in laboratory conditions, equipment calibration, and documentation
- Following all safety and environmental procedures
- Getting involved in continuous improvement initiatives like Lean, 5S and method development
- Organising your own workload and working to agreed priorities
- Supporting the team to meet key performance indicators and company goals

Who We’re Looking For
Education / Entry Requirements
- At least 5 good GCSEs including a minimum Grade 4/C in Maths, English and Science
- Minimum 112 UCAS points, with:
- A-level: A in Chemistry and C in Maths, or BTEC: Distinction in Chemistry-related subject and Merit in Maths
- Must meet MMU entry requirements for the Laboratory Science Degree Apprenticeship

- Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to different audiences
- High attention to detail and accuracy in lab work and data entry
- Excellent practical skills—comfortable with pipetting, weighing, and lab processes
- Solid mathematical ability, including algebra and calculations

- IT-literate (e.g., MS Excel, data entry systems)
