Role Overview

Luxfer is seeking a professional, self-motivated, driven and enthusiastic individual to be part of our in-house facilities team. Your primary goal will be to maintain a safe, functional and suitable environment through a mix of planned and reactive general maintenance tasks across the site containing offices, buildings, laboratories and production plant. The ideal candidate will be a qualified multi-trader able to undertake a range of basic plumbing, electrical, joinery and general building labour work, including but not limited to the following tasks:

  • Conduct general repairs such as fixing leaking taps and basic plumbing, unblocking drains, repairing door handles and locks, and patching or painting walls.
  • Monitor and perform basic maintenance on heating and ventilation systems (HVAC) and electrical systems such as changing filters, light bulbs, and fuses.
  • Carry out basic inspections of facility equipment such as HVAC and site areas such as drains and leaks to identify and fix minor issues before they become major failures thus contributing to the preventative maintenance plan.
  • Install and assemble furniture and shelves along with hanging pictures or signs within buildings or across site.
  • Basic site upkeep such as removing unwanted growth and clearing debris from gutters and drains.
  • Perform basic electrical work such as replacing bulbs or sockets.
  • Carry out basic joinery such as re-hanging doors, repairing door frames and fixing floorboards.
  • Adhering to all health and safety policies.
  • Reporting maintenance issues and ensuring they are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Recording all activities on the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Assist maintenance team when required.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has a passion for fixing things and improving them
  • Has at least 5 GCSE results at grade 4/C, including Maths & English (or equivalent qualification), and have ideally continued their studies within a trade profession e.g. plumbing, construction, joinery, electrical or similar.
  • Committed to working safely and following procedures
  • Reliable, punctual, and organised
  • Able to problem-solve and pay attention to detail
