Analyst Apprentice Location: Manchester, UK. Study: BSc (Hons) Chemical Science Degree via Degree Apprenticeship (Manchester Metropolitan University). Department: Materials Quality Control (QC). Hours: Full-time, 4-year Apprenticeship.
We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Analyst Apprentice to join our world‑class Materials Quality Control team in Manchester. This is not your average apprenticeship – this is the start of a career with a company that values curiosity, innovation, and leadership potential.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Perform routine analytical testing using traditional techniques and advanced instruments (e.g. XRF, XRD, ICP‑OES, Ion Chromatography, and more).
- Test raw materials, in‑process samples and final products.
- Maintain high standards in laboratory conditions, equipment calibration and documentation.
- Follow all safety and environmental procedures.
- Get involved in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, 5S and method development.
- Organise your own workload and work to agreed priorities.
- Support the team to meet key performance indicators and company goals.

Who We’re Looking For:
Education/Entry Requirements:
- At least 5 good GCSEs, including a minimum Grade 4/C in Maths, English and Science.
- Minimum 112 UCAS points, with:
- A-level: A in Chemistry and C in Maths.
- BTEC: Distinction in a Chemistry‑related subject and Merit in Maths.
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to different audiences.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in lab work and data entry.
- Excellent practical skills – comfortable with pipetting, weighing and lab processes.
- Solid mathematical ability, including algebra and calculations.
- Proactive problem‑solving mindset and team player.
- IT‑literate (e.g., MS Excel, data entry systems).
