The Role – Manufacturing / Production Operative (Billet Prep):
- Using manual lathes and bandsaws
- Target-focused, must hit output quotas
- Operating process equipment and machinery, including semi and fully automated machinery
- Monitoring processes and recording parameters for production records, log sheets, and SAP transactions
- Communicating current status to other operators and departments
- Performing in-house tests/analysis to ensure product quality
- Packing finished goods into drums, bags, pallets, or other containers
- Aiding in investigations to identify root causes of out-of-spec products or production issues
Requirements:
- Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Experience with manual lathes or saws; qualified machinist preferred
- Valid forklift truck license
- 5 GCSEs (including English and Maths) at grades A-C
- Post-secondary education (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) in Engineering, Science, Manufacturing, or related fields
- Ability to use initiative, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure
- Safety-conscious with high attention to detail
- Professional attitude and team player
Additional advantageous qualifications: Pendant crane, forklift license
