The Role – Manufacturing / Production Operative (Billet Prep):

  • Using manual lathes and bandsaws
  • Target-focused, must hit output quotas
  • Operating process equipment and machinery, including semi and fully automated machinery
  • Monitoring processes and recording parameters for production records, log sheets, and SAP transactions
  • Communicating current status to other operators and departments
  • Performing in-house tests/analysis to ensure product quality
  • Packing finished goods into drums, bags, pallets, or other containers
  • Aiding in investigations to identify root causes of out-of-spec products or production issues

Requirements:

  • Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Experience with manual lathes or saws; qualified machinist preferred
  • Valid forklift truck license
  • 5 GCSEs (including English and Maths) at grades A-C
  • Post-secondary education (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) in Engineering, Science, Manufacturing, or related fields
  • Ability to use initiative, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure
  • Safety-conscious with high attention to detail
  • Professional attitude and team player

Additional advantageous qualifications: Pendant crane, forklift license
