We are seeking an experienced and motivated Waste/Wheeled Loader Operator to join our HSE team. Reporting to the HSE Advisor and responsible to the HSE Manager, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient handling of materials and waste across site. This role involves supporting hazardous and non‑hazardous waste collections and removals in line with health, safety and environmental legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a wheeled loader safely to load, move and stockpile waste materials.
  • Carry out daily equipment checks and basic maintenance, reporting defects promptly.
  • Move materials between storage areas and load wagons for disposal.
  • Maintain a clean, organised work area.
  • Follow site procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Communicate effectively with HSE and production teams.
  • Support general duties related to site waste streams as required.

Essential Criteria

  • At least 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including English, Maths and Science.
  • Proven experience operating a wheeled loader, ideally within a waste or manufacturing environment.
  • NPORS N209 (Wheeled Loader) or CPCS Trained Operator (Red) or Competent Operator (Blue) Card for wheeled loader operations.
  • Good understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements relating to waste management.

Working Pattern

  • Mostly outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Day shift role with some flexibility to support waste collections.
  • Working in close proximity to hazardous and non‑hazardous materials, using appropriate PPE at all times.
