The Role – Manufacturing / Production Operative (Billet Prep)

  • Using manual lathes, bandsaws
  • Target focused, must hit output quota
  • Operating process equipment and machinery, including semi and fully automated machinery
  • Monitoring processes and recording parameters for production records, log sheets and SAP transactions
  • Communicating current status to other operators and departments
  • Performing in-house tests/analysis to ensure product is produced in line with specifications
  • Packing finished goods into drums, bags, onto pallets or other containers for transportation
  • Aiding in the investigation and identifying the root cause of out-of-spec product and/or production issues

What you’ll need to be considered for this Manufacturing Operative role:

  • Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Must have experience on manual lathes or saws – preferably qualified machinist
  • FLT licence
  • 5x GCSE’s (Incl. Eng, Maths) – A-C
  • Post school education (NVQ lvl 3 or equivalent)
  • Achieved a minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject such as Engineering, Science, Manufacturing etc.
  • Ability to use own initiative, prioritise tasks, and work under pressure
  • Safety conscious and have a high level of attention to detail
  • Professional approach to work and a team player
  • Must have a valid forklift truck licence. A Pendant crane qualification would also be advantageous.

The Package – Manufacturing / Production Operative

  • Salary from £26,106. Potential to earn an annual bonus
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Company pension

You’ll be employed on a fixed term contract, predominantly working a shift pattern of 6am to 1:50pm / 1:30pm to 9:20pm / 8:45pm to 6am with an early finish on Fridays. Flexibility will be required due to the nature of the role. You’ll be working from our head office in Swinton, Greater Manchester.
