We are seeking an experienced Buyer with a good understanding of electronic components and the global components market.
This company is a well-established, dynamic and growing organisation in the electronics sector based in Hook, Hampshire.
The Buyer will evaluate the need for products against demand or forecast, ensuring the timely and cost-effective supply of quality parts for production and / or distribution.
The
Role: Monitor component lead times, shortages, obsolescence, and market trends to mitigate risk and avoid production delays.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and value improvements.
Liaise with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, logistics, and issue resolution.
Work closely with engineering to identify approved components and alternate sourcing options where necessary.
Track and report on key metrics including delivery performance, cost variance, and supplier quality.
Evaluate demand from relevant reports, forecasts and other sources.
Control inventory levels and manage stock turns as defined in KPI's.
Place purchase orders with suppliers including LPO's and online transactions.
