About the Role
Our client is looking for a proactive and hands‑on Stores Supervisor to oversee the day‑to‑day running of their stores and warehouse operation. This is a varied role combining stock control, goods in/out and the assembly and manufacture of specialist products. The successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills, a strong attention to detail and be confident using hand tools to assemble products to a high standard. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys a practical role and takes pride in maintaining an efficient and well‑organised stores environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily operation of the stores department, ensuring work is completed efficiently and accurately.
- Receive, inspect and book in deliveries from suppliers.
- Organise and maintain stock locations to ensure a clean, safe and efficient warehouse.
- Pick, pack and dispatch customer orders accurately and on time.
- Carry out regular stock checks and annual stock takes.
- Maintain accurate stock records using the company's inventory system.
- Assemble and manufacture products in accordance with company specifications and quality standards.
- Use a variety of hand tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively.
- Inspect assembled products to ensure they meet quality requirements before dispatch.
- Liaise with purchasing, production and sales teams regarding stock availability and customer orders.
- Monitor stock levels and highlight replenishment requirements.
- Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are followed within the stores and workshop areas.
- Support continuous improvement of stores processes and workflow.
- Train and support other members of the stores team where required.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience within a Stores Supervisor, Warehouse Supervisor or similar role.
- Experience assembling or manufacturing products.
- Confident using a range of hand tools.
- Strong stock control and inventory management experience.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Good computer skills with experience using stock control or systems.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work independently.
- Good communication skills and a positive, team‑focused attitude.
Desirable
- Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment.
- Experience with continuous improvement or lean manufacturing practices.
