The Role
The LV Switch Panel Wireman will be responsible for the mechanical and electrical assembly, wiring and testing of low-voltage distribution boards and MCCB panel boards. The role is central to ensuring products are completed accurately, safely and to the required technical standards.
- Build and test distribution boards and MCCB panels in line with technical drawings, specifications and BS EN 61439 requirements
- Read and interpret electrical CAD drawings, wiring diagrams and layout information
- Check component quantities and quality before starting each build
- Assemble wiring loom kits using a range of cable crimp hand tools
- Carry out electrical testing, including continuity, insulation resistance and functional checks
- Identify and rectify wiring or assembly faults through effective fault-finding
- Maintain accurate manufacturing records, including test certification, diagrams, drawings and production sheets
- Work safely and support compliance with health and safety requirements
- Work independently with limited supervision while collaborating with colleagues and other departments
About You
- Previous strong experience in a low-voltage panel building environment
- Good understanding of electrical systems, components and panel construction
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work
- Ability to read and work from technical electrical drawings and wiring diagrams
- Experience using hand tools, power tools and electrical test equipment
- Knowledge of electrical regulations, including 18th Edition

- Salary: £27,000 p/a
