The Role
- The LV Switch Panel Wireman will be responsible for the mechanical and electrical assembly, wiring and testing of low-voltage distribution boards and MCCB panel boards.
- Build and test distribution boards and MCCB panels in line with technical drawings, specifications and BS EN 61439 requirements.
- Read and interpret electrical CAD drawings, wiring diagrams and layout information.
- Check component quantities and quality before starting each build.
- Assemble wiring loom kits using a range of cable crimp hand tools.
- Carry out electrical testing, including continuity, insulation resistance and functional checks.
- Identify and rectify wiring or assembly faults through effective fault-finding.
- Maintain accurate manufacturing records, including test certification, diagrams, drawings and production sheets.
- Work safely and support compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Work independently with limited supervision while collaborating with colleagues and other departments.
About You
- Previous strong experience in a low-voltage panel building environment.
- Good understanding of electrical systems, components and panel construction.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
- Ability to read and work from technical electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools and electrical test equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical regulations, including 18th Edition.

Salary & Working Hours
- 39 hours per week, full-time.
- Monday to Thursday: 07:25 to 16:30 (with lunch from 12:15 to 13:00).
- Friday: 07:30 to 13:10 (no lunch break).
- Location: Braintree, Essex (workshop based role).
- Salary: £27,000 p/a.
