This is an established engineering and manufacturing business that supplies specialist technical solutions to a diverse range of commercial and industrial sectors. With a focus on technical excellence, quality, and continuous improvement, the LV Switch Panel Wireman will be responsible for the mechanical and electrical assembly, wiring, and testing of low-voltage distribution boards.
- Read and interpret electrical CAD drawings, wiring diagrams, and layout.
- Check component quantities and quality before starting each build.
- Assemble wiring loom kits using a range of cable crimp hand tools.
- Carry out electrical testing, including continuity and insulation resistance.
- Identify and rectify wiring or assembly faults through effective troubleshooting.
- Work independently with limited supervision while collaborating with others.
Previous strong experience in a low-voltage panel building environment is required, along with:
- Good understanding of electrical systems, components, and panel construction.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
- Ability to read and work from technical electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical regulations, including 18th Edition.
This is a workshop-based role with a stable full-time schedule, occasional site work, and a commitment to quality, teamwork, and progression. You will have the chance to build your skills in panel wiring and testing.
39 hours per week, full-time:
- Monday to Thursday: 07:25 to 16:30 (with lunch from 12:15 to 13:00)
