Pastoral Support Assistant
£30,650 - £35,396 + excellent benefits.
Responsibilities
- Support the emotional and behavioural needs of young people with complex conditions such as Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and BESD.
- Work closely with families and develop individualized programmes and care plans for each pupil.
- Maintain a positive learning environment through careful assessment, planning and the application of high standards of care.
- Motivate and inspire pupils to achieve, operating effectively as part of a team.
- Contribute to multi‑agency collaborations, ensuring consistency with safeguarding and child protection legislation.
Qualifications
- Experience working with ASC, ADHD or SEMH pupils and in challenging family circumstances.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection policies and legislation.
- Experience of multi‑agency work.
- NVQ Level 3 in Care or Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred).
- Understanding of developmental needs of youths with BESD or ASD.
