Financial Controller – Family Office
A London-based Family Office is seeking a qualified and experienced Financial Controller to join their team. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of the Private Office. This position offers significant exposure to property development projects, personal finance management, and the broader operations of a dynamic family office.
About the Family Office:
The Family Office manages the personal affairs and special projects of two individuals and their families. They oversee a wide range of activities, including property development, household management, financial oversight, and lifestyle services, ensuring seamless operations across all aspects of the families’ lives.
The team, based in Notting Hill, provides comprehensive support across various domains, including personal administration, finance, and property management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Oversight:
– Supervise daily payment processes and ensure adherence to financial controls.
– Manage payments and record transactions in Xero, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
– Oversee bank reconciliations and expense coding, and assist with monthly cash summaries. - Cash Flow Management:
– Monitor cash flow by tracking bank balances, commitments, and future cash needs. - Project Involvement:
– Participate in bi-weekly property development meetings, track costs, and assist with forecasting. - Loan and Budget Management:
– Maintain schedules for loans and assist with budget preparation. - Payroll and Reporting:
– Manage monthly payroll inputs and assist with tax-related reporting. - HR and Administrative Support:
– Maintain HR and procedural records, ensuring they are up-to-date. - Personal Investments and Tax Reporting:
– Keep records of personal investments and assist with tax return preparation. - Balance Sheet and Reporting:
– Support the preparation of balance sheets and third-party reports.
Candidate Profile:
- PRE-REQUISITE: Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA or CIMA) with a minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience. (Please do NOT apply if you aren’t qualified)
- Experience outside of practice considered a plus.
- Experience in a Family Office or boutique environment is an advantage.
- Proficient in Xero and Google Workspace.
- Strong financial management skills, with experience in cash flow management, payroll, and balance sheets.
- High integrity, with the ability to handle confidential matters discreetly.
- Excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence.
Working Arrangement:
This role is based in Notting Hill, with a flexible working arrangement: 3 days (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) in the office and 2 days from home.
