Lutron-Orluna has an immediate opening for a Technical Assistant based in their Dunstable facility. You will build a career with a high tech company working in a hands-on environment. You will have the opportunity to cross train in various departments while performing a wide range of duties to support our engineering, manufacturing, assembly, quality, material handling and packaging operations.
Responsibilities
- Assemble custom products to meet the needs of our worldwide customers
- Learn our inventory management system and enter materials transactions
- Perform light electrical and mechanical assembly operations
- Work with our supply chain and distribution teams to process customer orders
- Work with material handling equipment to transport materials
- Communicate status of operation and improvements in a timely manner to leaders
- Work in a team environment to implement improvement ideas
- Utilize the computer-based system to enter inventory and production transactions
- Utilise continuous improvements and assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes
- Maintain safe and clean work environment by adhering to established policies and procedures
- Execute production schedules and highlight issues for quality and output improvement
Qualifications
- Experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing or warehouse environment
- Knowledge of BOMs, work orders, serialization, and custom manufacturing processes
- Experience working with barcode systems and label printing
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Capability to lift and move boxes of product up to 20kg
- Ability to stand for an extended period of time
- Ability to move to surrounding workstations
- Ability to read and follow work instructions in English
- Ability for continuous learning
