To provide robust IT and cyber security support for the Club and Community Trust, both during the working week and on match days ensuring 100% network uptime, secure systems, and smooth IT operations. This role supports the IT Manager in delivering technical assistance, troubleshooting, and infrastructure maintenance, with a focus on both security and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

IT Support

  • Act as a first point of contact for IT queries, resolving issues directly or working with vendors for resolution.
  • Ensure user satisfaction through efficient problem-solving and proactive service delivery.

IT Asset & Resource Management

  • Maintain accurate records of all IT hardware, software, and licenses.
  • Oversee the lifecycle of IT assets, including laptops, firewalls, and user group management.

Documentation & Training

  • Create and maintain IT documentation, policies, and training materials.
  • Deliver training sessions to staff to support new systems and processes.

Innovation & Automation

  • Develop and implement process automation and workflow optimisation via cloud platforms (e.g., Azure).
  • Participate in IT Labs initiatives to trial and roll out new technologies.

Cyber Security

  • Support network security efforts in line with NIST (or similar) frameworks.
  • Help ensure compliance through monitoring, prevention, and staff awareness.

Software Development (Support Role)

  • Assist with early-stage requirements gathering, testing, and user training.
  • Provide light programming input (JavaScript, Ruby) where applicable.

Person Specification

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths & English (Grade C/4 or above) – further education desirable.
  • Knowledge of computing systems and networking principles.
  • Understanding of cyber security frameworks (NIST or similar).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
