The Impact You’ll Make: Luton Town is looking for a Marketing & Communications Director to lead and develop the club’s marketing, communications, brand, and media strategies, strengthening reputation and deepening fan engagement. This is a senior leadership role with significant influence. You will set the strategic direction across marketing and communications, ensuring alignment across media, content, and campaign activity. From long-term planning through to day-to-day delivery, you will stay close to execution, ensuring strategy is translated into clear, consistent, and effective output across the club.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver an integrated marketing and communications strategy aligned to the club’s objectives.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO, Board, and Executive Team on communications, reputation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of integrated campaigns to drive fan engagement and revenue.
  • Oversee and evolve the club’s brand identity, ensuring consistency across all platforms.
  • Lead media relations and reputation management, including proactive storytelling, press releases, and crisis communications.
  • Lead the club’s public relations strategy, overseeing proactive and reactive media engagement across sport, business, and community narratives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media, partners, governing bodies, and supporter groups.
  • Lead the MarComms team, including digital content, media relations, PR, Marketing, and CRM, fostering high performance and collaboration.
  • Set clear priorities, performance metrics (KPIs), and reporting frameworks across MarComms.
  • Provide insight into fan, media, and public sentiment, to support decision-making at senior level.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Significant experience in senior marketing, communications, or MarComms roles, ideally within sports, entertainment, or high-profile consumer environments.
  • Track record of developing and delivering strategic communications that enhance engagement and reputation.
  • Strong experience in media relations and managing high-profile communications.
  • Ability to operate at executive level, advising senior stakeholders and influencing decisions.
  • Experience leading and developing teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of digital platforms, audience engagement, and data-led decision making.
