What you will do:

  • Maintain an Estate, Gardens and Golf Course as instructed by the Estate Manager
  • Understand and be aware of the history of the Estate, including architects and landscape gardeners and how they have influenced and developed Luton Hoo
  • Assist with ongoing project work across the Estate including hard and soft landscaping
  • Ensure that the Estates responsibilities for all Health and Safety aspects are maintained
  • Assist with the development of turf culture, hedge cutting and the pruning/training of ornamental trees and shrubs and climbing plants in many styles
  • Planting and aftercare of various trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants as instructed by the Estates Manager
  • Cleaning snow from driveways, patios and steps and the spreading of salt as required
  • External building maintenance, gutter clearing, drain clearing, refuse collection
