About The Job

Salary: £25,183 – £25,992 a year pro rata

Hours per week: Various

Contract type: Fixed Term & Permanent

Position details are as follows:

  • Hockwell Community Centre: 1 x 37 hr – Fixed Term until August 2025; 1 x 9 hr – permanent
  • Lewsey Community Centre: 1 x 22 hr – Fixed Term for 6 months
  • Chaul End Community Centre: 1 x 19.25 hr – Fixed Term until 31/03/2026
  • Bury Park Community Centre: 1 x 10.45 hr – Fixed Term until 31/03/26

These positions are available as a secondment opportunity. If you are a permanent LBC employee, you must have written approval from your manager prior to applying, and a copy must be submitted with your application. Applications will not be processed without this permission.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the community centres, including opening, closing, and supervising the buildings.
  • Ensure smooth bookings, maintain health and safety standards, and keep the environment clean and welcoming.
  • Act as the main point of contact for internal and external queries, working directly with the public to meet their needs.
  • Handle bookings, set up rooms, support community groups, and signpost services.
  • Support and supervise staff and volunteers, manage basic financial duties, and ensure accurate data recording.
  • Support administration and business development to enhance community centre usage.

About You

  • Experience in a customer-facing environment and basic administration and financial procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, empathetic, proactive, and resourceful.
  • Ability to support staff training, organize workload, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in using tills, handling money, and following financial procedures.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations, safeguarding, and ICT tools.
  • Able to move items with aids, stand for long periods, and work to a rota.
  • Fluent in speaking and writing English.
