Our client manufactures engineered plastic components in their factory in Burnley. The business is currently expanding and has a vacancy for a Senior Engineering Estimator. The business manufactures precision components for sectors including FMCG processing machinery, transport systems and bottling/canning processes. This role would suit an experienced estimator with experience in mechanical engineering. Experience with plastics would be strongly preferred.

The successful candidate will ideally have an engineering background with a strong working knowledge of engineering processes and capabilities. The Senior Estimator will work within a small team responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and technically sound cost estimates for engineering projects.

The Senior Estimator Role:

  • Lead the generation of costs and quotations for engineering components
  • Collaboration with CAD teams - reviewing engineering / technical drawings and specifications
  • Customer Liaison & discussion
  • Source and negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Identification of risks, opportunities, and value engineering options within project estimate
  • Administering of quote to sales order process
  • Mentor junior colleagues
