Mechanical Fitter (Machine Build/Assembly) – Leicester

To apply for the role, candidates will need experience fitting/assembling new machinery. You must be able to read and interpret engineering/technical drawings. The role will be fitting and assembling new, precision bespoke machines. You’ll be reading engineering drawings and using appropriate hand tools to assemble. You need to be accurate and ensure high attention to detail to ensure the specification is met.

The Mechanical Fitter Role:

  • Mechanical fitting and assembly of machines in line with specifications, drawings and build procedures
  • Read and follow engineering drawings
  • Use of hand tools and power tools
  • Working with rolling element bearings, shafts, plain bearings, liner bearings, ball screws, lead screws, pneumatic components, sensors, motors and gearboxes etc.
  • Use of measuring equipment such as verniers, slip gauges, micrometres etc.

The Mechanical Fitter Required:

  • Mechanical fitting/assembly experience of industrial machines or similar
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
