Lead Design Engineer (Special Purpose Machinery) Birmingham – Hybrid Working Options £58,500 Salary + 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays + Optional Group Personal Pension + Private Health Care + Life Assurance + Income Protection Monday to Thursday 08:30 to 17:00, Friday 08:30 to 16:30 Lead Design Engineer required for an industry leading manufacturing company to work on the development of special purpose machinery. This is a fantastic opportunity to play an integral role within a global organisation. This role would suit an experienced design engineer with experience using SolidWorks to design special purpose machinery, candidates from any industry are also encouraged to apply. Joining a growing team, the successful Lead Design Engineer will be responsible for overseeing cross functional teams to design and configure bespoke machinery designs. You will oversee projects from concept to completion, coordinate project timelines and actively design complex systems using SolidWorks. The Lead Design Engineer Role: · Leading technical teams on the development of bespoke machinery · Using SolidWorks to create details and complex systems · Feasibility testing and work with prototypes · Ensure compliance with regulations · Optimisation of design, material, and component selection for efficiency and sustainability · Analysis of failures to improve designs · Creation of technical reports for senior management and clients The Lead Design Engineer Candidate: · Experience designing special purpose machinery or similar · Hold a HNC / HND (or equivalent) in relevant engineering subject · Experience managing entire design processes · Experience optimising costs on high value projects
