Mechanical Fitter required by a well-established manufacturer. The Mechanical Fitter will need experience of fitting, assembly, stripping down, surveying and testing parts. The Mechanical Fitter Role:
- Overhaul of mechanical equipment within a workshop environment.
- Mechanical fitting, assembly, strip, survey, and test.
- Read drawings, identify components, assemble and/or repair mechanical equipment.
- Maintain good quality and efficiency.
- Flexibility of skills to carry out testing, basic wiring, and mechanical fitting.
- Maintain good housekeeping, awareness of and adherence to health and safety requirements.
- Ability to complete technical documentation as work progresses.
- To perform other duties as assigned from time to time.
The Mechanical Fitter:
- Experienced Mechanical Fitter from a workshop environment or similar, preferably with skills on rotating equipment.
- Ability to meet strict quality guidelines.
- Preferably apprentice trained and/or hold a relevant qualification.
- A working knowledge of safety systems such as Risk Assessments and COSHH Assessments will be advantageous.
- Experience of Lean Manufacturing principles such as 5s and knowledge of the 7 wastes would be beneficial, but not crucial.
