Our client, in the Insurance sector, is looking to appoint an experienced Operational Resilience Specialist to support the ongoing design, implementation, and evolution of their resilience and continuity frameworks.
Working in close partnership with the Operational Resilience & Business Continuity Manager, this individual will play a key role in embedding best practices across the organisation, ensuring robust preparedness and effective response capabilities in the face of operational disruption.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance policies, frameworks, and documentation related to business continuity and resilience
- Monitor and support the achievement of impact tolerances and recovery objectives across all functions
- Partner with IT teams to ensure disaster recovery and continuity testing are effective and aligned to business needs
- Assist in the coordination of crisis management activities, including site recovery and return-to-operational procedures
- Capture and analyse test results, identifying areas for improvement and driving remediation
- Promote resilience awareness through regular training, stakeholder engagement, and internal communications
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory expectations
- Conduct business impact assessments and operational risk evaluations
- Develop and maintain continuity strategies and response mechanisms across critical processes
- Oversee disaster recovery exercises, ensuring outcomes align with agreed RTOs/RPOs and lessons are actioned appropriately
Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience in Business Continuity and Operational Resilience within the financial services or a similarly regulated environment
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and resilience principles (e.g. FCA/PRA guidelines)
- CBCI certification or equivalent is preferred
- Solid understanding of the Business Continuity Management lifecycle
- Practical experience in resilience and continuity governance, process oversight, and stakeholder training
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders and external partners
- Able to make sound decisions under pressure, while managing competing priorities effectively
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a matrixed environment
