Interim Chief Risk Officer | London, UK | Hybrid

Location: London (hybrid working arrangement, 2 days p/w)

About the Role:

Lutine Bell are working with a dynamic banking organisation, who are seeking a strategic and experienced Chief Risk Officer to join the Executive team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with the CEO and Executive team to embed a robust risk management framework.
• Develop and implement frameworks for key risks, including credit, market, operational, and compliance.
• Contribute to the Bank\’s growth as a member of the Executive Committee.
• Lead the Risk and Compliance function, ensuring it supports the Bank\’s mission.
• Build and develop a high-performing risk team.
• Report on the Bank’s risk profile to the Executive Team, Board, and Shareholder.
• Represent the Bank to third parties, including government departments.
• Review and update risk appetite in line with strategy.
• Maintain risk awareness across the Bank through education and e-learning.
• Collaborate with Finance on asset valuations and stress testing.
• Assess new products for risk consistency.
• Develop and maintain risk management systems.
• Implement effective monitoring and oversight frameworks.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in risk management, including credit, market, and compliance risks.
• Proven leadership experience as a CRO or senior risk professional.
• Strong technical knowledge across various asset classes.
• In-depth knowledge of retail and commercial banking.
• Ability to influence at the executive level and present to the Board and Shareholder.
