Location: Resident within 1 hour drive of Chippenham HQ, travel throughout the UK.

Travel: Extensive nationwide travel with regular overnight stays.

Salary: £30,000 – £45,000 depending on experience, plus overtime and benefits.

Contract: Full-time, Shift Options [4 days on 3 days off OR 5 days on 2 days off].

About Luthmore: Based in Chippenham, Luthmore formed in 2022 and have developed and launched the pioneering battery-enabled electric combi boiler. This new product provides the same performance as a gas combi boiler and fits into the same space whilst producing zero emissions.

The Role: We are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our close-knit team based in Chippenham. The role will require daily travel, and possible overnight hotel stays to support new installations; and provide an on-site technical support / repair service nationwide. As the Field Service team grows there may be opportunity in time for this role transition to a regional coverage role. The ideal candidate will have experience with installation, fault finding and repair of domestic heating products such as gas boilers, electric boilers, heat pumps or similar.

Responsibilities:

  • Response: Coordinate with Chippenham based Technical Support Team to resolve critical faults within 48 hrs (Monday - Saturday).
  • Diagnostics: Use experience, problem solving and diagnostic tools such as multi-meters and laptop-based software to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently, minimising downtime for customers.
  • Repair: Repair Luthmore boiler by replacement of electrical and mechanical components / assemblies, including plumbing parts, LFP batteries and PCB’s.
  • Installation Support: Attend first installations of accredited Luthmore Installers to top up training, answer questions and provide the best possible experience for installers and end customers.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate digital service records, documentation, and inventory reports using company software.
  • Teamwork: Work as part of a close, friendly, and supportive team and represent the company values and culture when working with customers.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Relevant professional qualifications in previous field such as Part P Certificate (electrical roles), CCN1 (gas roles), NVQ level 2/3 (plumbing / heating), MCS certification (microgeneration / heat pump roles).
  • Experience: Experience with installation, fault finding and repair of domestic heating products such as gas boilers, electric boilers, heat pumps or similar.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload while traveling across the nation.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong customer-facing skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • IT Skills: Ability to use IT equipment and phone to effectively coordinate schedules with HQ and customers; use diagnostic tools; and manage spare parts stock.
  • License: A full, valid UK driving licence is essential.
