About the Role
The role involves preparing and developing arrangement and detail conceptual, FEED, studies, and detail design drawings of high technical quality and professional consistent presentation ensuring clarity and ease of construction. The successful candidate will develop 3D models and ensure clash-free designs with all other disciplines while adhering to project specifications and schedules.
Responsibilities
- Fully understand contract scope, specifications, schedule, and inter-discipline requirements, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Manage scope changes and variation orders, including raising change notifications with supporting estimates and documentation.
- Develop clash-free 3D designs, coordinating closely with all engineering disciplines.
- Interface across disciplines to gather inputs, align deliverables, and ensure schedule compliance.
- Prepare and review discipline deliverables including: 3D models, detailed design drawings, and as-built drawings.
- Incorporate data from vendor documents, other disciplines, and technical reviews into design outputs.
- Raise technical queries (TQs) to address missing information and clarify scope.
- Conduct design verification (SDC/IDC) and participate in inter-discipline checks.
- Maintain deliverables register, holds list, and design documentation, ensuring accurate tracking and updates.
- Support material take-offs and progress reporting.
- Ensure compliance with Project Execution Plan, standards, and procedures.
- Participate in design reviews, audits, model reviews, and lessons learned processes.
- Coordinate 3D model reviews and closure of design comments.
- Act as discipline point of contact for project stakeholders (internal and external).
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior/trainee designers.
- Support Lead Designer with estimates, schedules, manpower planning, and productivity tracking.
