Our client has been in operation for over a decade, designing, building and operating systems in the renewable energy sector. They have projects in locations across the UK and have more to come.
This is an exciting time for the organisation, and they are seeking an experienced Grid Manager to join them on this journey.
As a Grid Manager, you will be responsible for the following:
- Manage the grid connection process from initial feasibility through to energisation
- Helping to develop and improve early stage project cost estimates for electrical/grid elements
- Regular engagement with DNOs, TOs, NESO and ICPs/IDNOs
- Provision of technical input to grid applications
- Critically review connection offers, identifying risks and opportunities for acceleration and cost reduction
- Monitor policy and regulatory changes and report internally
- Manage grid compliance process from cradle to grave
- Work with OEMs to develop robust and cost-effective testing and compliance regimes for new sites, providing technical input during contract negotiations
For your application to be successful, you must have the following skills and experience:
- In depth understanding of the UK’s distribution and transmission networks and regulatory environment.
- Proven experience in the delivery of grid connections for power generation projects
- Knowledge of power modelling and grid compliance testing processes
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to produce cost estimations to aid decision making
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
