An established organisation based in central Glasgow is seeking an ambitious Trainee Accounts Assistant to join their growing finance team. This role offers hands-on experience, professional development, and full study support toward your finance qualifications.
The Role
As a Trainee Accounts Assistant, you will support the finance team with a range of day-to-day accounting tasks while developing key technical skills and knowledge. You’ll work closely with experienced colleagues who will help guide your development as you progress toward qualifications such as ACCA or CIMA.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Processing
- Assist with preparing and posting sales and purchase invoices
- Support the month-end process with accurate entries and reconciliations
- Banking & Reconciliations
- Help complete bank reconciliations and maintain financial records
- Support payment runs and supplier statement checks
- Credit Control & Queries
- Assist with monitoring outstanding balances
- Help respond to internal and external finance queries
- Reporting Support
- Contribute to basic financial reporting
- Support audit preparation and documentation requests
About You
- Education: Finance-related degree is essential
- Strong desire to work towards professional exams (study support provided)
- Good working knowledge of Excel
- Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
