An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Personal Tax Senior to join a well-established and close-knit tax team of ten based in central Edinburgh. This permanent role is ideally suited to an experienced Personal Tax Assistant or Senior seeking their next challenge in a client-focused and collaborative environment.
You will take ownership of a traditional private client portfolio of circa 170 clients, preparing personal and partnership tax returns, managing day-to-day client communications, and ensuring the smooth collation of documentation with support from administrators. As a trusted point of contact, you'll respond to client queries and develop long-standing relationships. You'll also assist senior management with ad hoc advisory projects and liaise with other departments across the firm.
There is a strong emphasis on technical development, with support from experienced colleagues and the opportunity to mentor junior trainees. Study support for CTA is available for those wishing to pursue further qualifications, although this is not a requirement.
What we're looking for:
- A minimum of 2-3 years UK personal tax experience, ideally gained within an accountancy or legal firm.
- Alternatively, experience from a general accounting role with a strong tax element will also be considered.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Familiarity with systems such as IRIS and the Microsoft Office Suite is desirable.
