Role Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead and oversee engineering delivery within the Glasgow team and wider EMEA region. This role will take responsibility for managing the work of electrical engineering teams, ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects from concept through to execution.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide technical leadership across assigned projects, taking a hands-on role while supporting Project Managers by leading on engineering aspects and allowing them to focus on commercial delivery.
- Act as a client-facing figure, highly visible internally, coordinating effectively across multiple disciplines and seniority levels, including non-technical stakeholders.
- Translate and simplify complex technical information, understanding client priorities and challenges to deliver practical, solution-focused outcomes.
- Focus primarily on the design phase of projects, with limited involvement in construction in the near term.
- Deliver work across FEED studies, detailed design, and owner’s engineer scopes, with a strong emphasis on substation design and growing involvement in BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems).
- Provide technical input to bids and proposals, supporting work-winning activity.
- Operate across the EMEA region, with the majority of projects based in the UK, alongside some involvement in Ireland, Spain, UAE, and other European locations.
- Predominantly a desk-based role, with occasional travel for client meetings and site visits across the region.

- Bachelors in Electrical Engineering.
- Min 10 years relevant experience.
- Electrical engineering design, especially substation.
