An established and rapidly expanding organisation is looking for an enthusiastic and organised Assistant Buyer to join its busy and developing purchasing team. The company has recently acquired an additional business, significantly increasing its product portfolio and creating new opportunities across the department. As the team takes on higher volumes and broader responsibilities, this role is ideal for someone eager to build their buying career within a supportive environment that encourages growth and development.

Role

You will support daily procurement activity, working across a high volume of tasks, engaging with suppliers, and assisting in maintaining strong commercial performance. Experience with ERP systems is important — Epicor is used internally, but strong competency with any ERP platform is welcome. Good general IT skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Buy various commodities for the organisation
  • Conduct vendor reviews and support supplier performance
  • Complete KPI reviews and track departmental metrics
  • Build and maintain supplier stakeholder relationships
  • Attend supplier meetings and support commercial discussions
  • Follow up on ITT documentation and related processes
  • Update and maintain accurate data within the ERP system
  • Manage a high volume of workflow with strong organisational skills
