Lusona Consultancy are working on behalf of a well-respected house builder for the recruitment of a Group Accountant on a permanent basis. The Group Accountant is a key role in the structure focusing on new build and commercial developments and supporting the project appraisal process.
The Group Accountant will work in an established team of 4 across finance with a wider network of stakeholders across the group and operations teams. Our client offers a hybrid environment with excellent benefits including 40 days holiday, generous pension contribution and healthcare. The salary banding is between £57,000 - £63,000 per annum depending on experience.
The Group Accountant will be responsible for business planning and management accounting cycle and associated commentary for group and subsidiaries. You will lead on statutory accounting and board reporting, monitoring spend and leading on the project appraisal process. You will work with commercial teams and provide advice on cost management, cashflow and appraising projects of substantial builds, working with architects and planners on site to ensure the completion of plans and to board approval.
This is a commercial role bringing together technical and planning and analysis skills in a project-focused environment. This role has one direct report at Assistant Accountant level. The successful candidate will be fully qualified with ACCA/CIMA/CA status with strong management accounting and project accounting experience.
You will have strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and challenge with a strong eye for detail on spend and cashflow against project deadlines. You will have experience working closely with non-financial stakeholders, presenting MI for board review and ideally have experience in managing capital projects.
