A newly created opportunity has opened within the Glasgow-based tax function of a leading international professional services firm. As the organisation continues to grow and evolve, the UK tax team is being strengthened with the addition of an experienced private client tax professional. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys technical personal tax and partnership work, but wants broader exposure, better balance, and the chance to apply their trade in-house. No timesheets, no chargeable time, no BD!
The Role
- First line review or preparation of approximately 185 UK resident partner tax returns, including collation and review of data received from the partners, working closely with senior stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and preparation of UK personal tax returns for partners
- Partnership tax compliance, including computations, returns, and tax payment coordination
- Liaison on double tax relief claims and cross-border matters where required
- Oversight of service company and related entity tax compliance
- Supporting advisory projects linked to partnership structures and operational change
- Improving processes, controls, and the use of tax technology within the function
- Acting as a trusted technical point of contact for internal stakeholders
About You
This role will suit a technically confident private client tax specialist who enjoys responsibility and autonomy. You’ll likely bring:
- Strong experience in UK personal tax, ideally including high-net-worth or partner populations
- Exposure to partnership tax (advantageous, not essential)
- Experience at Tax Assistant Manager or Manager grade within an accounting or law firm
- Confidence managing large, deadline-driven compliance portfolios
- Solid technical grounding with the ability to explain tax clearly to non-tax colleagues
- ATT/CTA (or equivalent) qualification preferred
