Our client is looking for an ambitious Senior or Principal Mechanical Design Engineer. You will play a key role in the design and delivery of mechanical systems for mission critical projects. Reporting to the Head of Mechanical Design, your responsibilities will include:
- Developing detailed mechanical designs for HVAC, chilled water, and specialist systems.
- Supporting project delivery from concept through to construction and commissioning.
- Collaborating with internal teams, clients, and external consultants to ensure design integrity.
- Conducting technical reviews, calculations, and system simulations.
- Assisting in mentoring junior engineers and contributing to continuous improvement.
You will be involved in high-value, technically complex projects where precision and reliability are paramount.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant subject.
- Proven experience in mechanical design engineering within mission critical sectors.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, chilled water systems, and cleanroom design.
- Excellent proficiency in industry standard design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, IESVE, Hevacomp, etc.
- Excellent project management and communication skills.
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards it (CEng, IMechE or equivalent) is desirable.
