Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated HVAC Design Engineer to join their multidisciplinary design team at their Glasgow office. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and experience designing HVAC systems for complex and challenging building services projects.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to refine their engineering skills working on bespoke, technically challenging, design and construct projects in specialist and regulated markets, working directly with world leading clients.

As a HVAC Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate with clients, multidisciplinary design teams, and other project stakeholders, to understand project requirements and provide technical solutions.
  • Develop HVAC design solutions for projects, drawing on the experience of key sector specialists as required.
  • Deliver work package design information for HVAC systems including ductwork, piping, plumbing and control systems.
  • Ensure project timelines are met and quality standards are upheld.
  • Conduct code and design reviews to ensure designs meet industry standards and regulations.
  • Manage project budgets and schedules, and report on project progress to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Building Services Engineering or related field.
  • ~ 10+ years of experience in building services design, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems and industry standards.
  • Ability to think from first principles to develop elegant, efficient and economical design solutions.
  • Familiarity with psychrometric calculations (supplementary training will be provided).
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with software packages such as AutoCAD, Excel, Navisworks.
  • Understanding of Revit is required but proficiency is not essential.
  • Full UK driving license.
