Lusona are partnering exclusively with a leading Specialist Sub-Contractor based in Livingston. They manufacture and supply high quality Aluminium - Timber windows and doors to commercial and luxury residential projects across the UK and they are currently recruiting for a commercial manager to join the team. The role is paying up to £95,000 + Package and critically they are looking for an ambitious and talented individual that would be keen to progress to Commercial Director over time.
Day to day the role involves:
- Negotiation and administration of JCT, NEC and design contracts (including any modifications)
- Negotiation and dispute resolution phases of projects (using knowledge of construction law)
- Management and development of the Quantity Surveyor team on all subcontract transactional tasks (including applications, event notices, variations & cashflow)
- Take a leading role in evaluation of scope and pricing of Tenders ensuring a fully defined tender
- Full financial P&L overview of Contracting projects
- Support of the senior team’s assessment of main contract towards contract closure
- Overview all orders placed with subcontractors/business partners
- Preparation and negotiation of all final account settlements
- Understand and apply commercial & financial procedures and reporting systems
- Produce relevant reports to senior management and UK Board
- Manage the change process in accordance with the contract
- Understanding of bonds, PCG’s, warranty insurances and associated risks
- Demonstrates skills in the avoidance and defence of claims
- Develops a procurement strategy in conjunction with supply chain services
The role would suit individuals from a main contractor or sub-contractor background currently working in a commercial capacity, ideally running the QS team. You will hold a Quantity Surveying or Construction related degree. RICS or CIOB would be desirable in addition to Health and Safety such as NEBOSH or IOSH. Previous P&L exposure and experience of management of large scale, concurrent projects is required.
